Today was the biggest day so far in Handsome Hollow's short six month history.  The frame of the 200+ year old barn is now STANDING on the property.   Dream. Come. True.

I woke up to the sound of a crane from Binghamton, NY rolling onto the site this morning.   Within an hour the team from Heritage Barns was lifting bents into place. (I have no idea how to describe what a bent is other than to say that there are four of them in this barn and they're primary supports.).

Once the first bent was up, the guys were walking on the beams 10 and 20 feet above the ground; Sometimes with a harness, sometimes without.   Either way it made me anxious to watch.

The guys by the way were hard working twenty-something men from around Waco, Texas. They brought a large dose of Southern charm and etiquette to the Northeast.   It didn't take long to get used to "yes, ma'am", "no, ma'am."

To make the day even better, Olivia and Ondrej, an awesome couple who are having their wedding at Handsome Hollow in September, 2015 stopped by to watch the progress and take some pics.  It felt good to share the big day.

Enough words... Here's a few pics.
